School Based Clinic - Benton Harbor High School (BHHS)
The School Based Clinic (SBC) provides a full range of public health services which include treatment of minor health problems (minor first aid, headaches, menstrual cramps, colds, skin problems, and stomach aches); health assessments/physicals for school sports; Medicaid pysicals (EPSDT); pregnancy testing, pap smear, sexually transmitted diseases; general health; and immunization. The School Based Clinic also provides education and counseling services in areas such as nutrition and weight control, peer pressure, sexually transmitted diseases, parenting skills, healthful living styles, substance abuse, family planning, human sexuality, reproductive health and stress.
A Nurse Practitioner and a medical assistant are on site. Assistance with screening for health insurance is available at the SBC.

Adolescents and young adults.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be 10–21 years of age.
Cost of Services
Per sliding scale — no one is denied services because of inability to pay.

Additional Information
Family planning services, prenatal care, and treatment for sexually transmitted disease are offered as provided by state law. Referrals to existing community health services and private physicians are made as appropriate. All reproductive health, family planning and sexuality education materials have been approved by the Family Life Education Advisory Board and the Benton Harbor Area Schools Board of Education. |
