Public Health Nursing
Public Health nurses provide chronic and communicable disease control services including immunizations, tuberculosis, flu clinics, and disease outbreak control. Public health nurses also provide home visits to individuals and families. They provide education, consultation, health referrals and coordination of services for a variety of health-related issues such as SIDS, lead poisoning, parenting, and nutrition.

Cost of Services
- Immunizations $15.00 — Clinics by appointment. Benton Harbor, Niles and Three Oaks offices.
- Evening clinics in Niles and Three Oaks.
- TB Testing - $10 - Testing on Tuesdays, readings on Friday
- Flu and Pneumonia shots $30.00 and $45.00 — Subject to change
- Hepatitis B vaccination series for adults — $150.00 — By appointment.
- Hepatitis A — $35.00
- Menactra — $110.00
No one is denied services because of inability to pay (with the exception of the Hepatitis A, B, or Menactra series for adults.)

Services
- Information and Referral — General public clients, other providers.
- Communicable Disease Control — Foodborne outbreaks, Rabies, Salmonella, Hepatitis, etc.
- School Assignments — communicable disease: lice, pinkeye, and epiglottitis. Evaluation of immunization records, education, and training.
- Day Care/Pre-school Assignments — communicable disease control: lice, pinkeye, epiglottitis. Evaluation of immunization records, education and training.
- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) — intervention, assessment, counseling, and referral.
- General Home Visits — social, economic or health related problems.
- Clinics — flu, pneumonia, child immunization, TB, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A.
- Perinatal Hepatitis B Program
- Lead Poisoning — investigation and intervention.
- Work with the Department of Human Services — foster care, child protective services, adult services, prevention.
- Tuberculosis (TB) Control -- Evaluation of individuals' TB status, treatment and follow-up of exposed individuals and active cases.
- Immunizations -- Provision and distribution of immunizations against preventable diseases. For qualifying children 18 years of age or younger.
