Counseling: Individual and Family
The Substance Abuse Treatment Services Program is licensed by the Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services Bureau of Health Systems and accredited through the Commission on Accreditation and Rehabilitative Facilities. Counselors have diverse levels of education and training along with significant knowledge and experience in the treatment of substance and some psychiatric disorders.
Chemical dependency is a family disease. We stress abstinence from all mood altering drugs, and participation in support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Alanon in order to assist clients to lead a sober and fulfilling lifestyle. Counseling may last from a few sessions to several months, depending on the individual needs of the client and family.
There may be an admission group focused on structuring, intake and an overview of counseling services available leading to assessment/counseling.
